New Year – New City: Ljubljana, Slovenia

“Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.” – Seneca

With me facing my finals, a change of surroundings was just what my mind and body needed. I used to travel a lot, but advancing in law school did not leave a lot of time to explore the world, at least not as much as I wish (does´t anyone?).

Nevertheless this new years´I got the chance to visit a friend and experience the beautiful capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana.

Taking the bus from Munich (central bus station), it took us only 5 hours to get to Ljubljana. On the way, we stopped for a little break and enjoyed the first snow this season (little did we know, what weather would expect us back in Germany after new years´).thumb_img_4906_1024

Once in Ljublijana, we had the best weather anyone could ask for a city trip. Therefore we could experience the city walking through the streets. According to a legend, a dragon had to be fought before humans could settle and build the city.

A MUST is the castle watching over the city. You can walk up or you can just take the cableway up. Arriving, we took a walk through the castle and the court.

If you happen to visit – maybe you can find our message on the wall of wishes?

Standing there, the most beautiful view presented its self, giving us an overview over the whole city as well as a gorgeous foresight all the way through the nearby forest and the mountains. With no further ado – I will let you enjoy these stunning pictures.

  1. Sounds like a great trip and I love to travel too, but have never been there. You made some really cool pics of the city and I really should go there one day also because its so “close” to Germany.

    Best wishes, Nicky
