Sometimes being spontaneous is required. As it was this week – on Tuesday an invitation came in for Saturday. Well..kinda short notice, but since it was only 2 hrs away, why not give it a try? What´s the worst that can happen? Plus: it was the first invitation to somehow fashion – themed event, so I HAD to say yes (thank you, combyne App*!).
Not knowing what to expect, I had no clue what to wear! So first things first: weather check. Because I can not stand being cold, especially not when travelling (how exactly do all these girls stand there with pumps or sandals and fishnet tights, i mean HOW??) Fortunately, sunshine was announced – well one problem solved…kinda. Next one: the shoes. Stylish but comfy! [outfit details below]
I really love these. Even though they are high, they are very soft and comfortable when walking.
[and since it´s (also) about petite fashion, a tip for petites: the height of the boot leg is really important when it comes to the ankle – ish type of boots. Personally I don´t like them too high since that makes me short. Just make sure you find the perfect height for you leg length]
Finally I opted for this black mini dress with faux leather applications. And once the faux leather theme was opened – why not go all the way! I chose this khaki faux and suede leather mix for a coat to go with the dress and the boots.
The event: combyne app* invited to an app testing & donuts event. What we did? We sat with the combyne app team and gave them our ideas on how to improve the app for you guys. First they asked each and one of us how we like the app and its features. Afterwards we sat in a group an discussed what we like and what we do not like. I really enjoyed being able to have an influence on something I really like and use. The update will probably happen when they launch the app for Android system (for now its only for iOS available – but stay tuned!)
The app: combyne app is like an online fashion/ style book. You can combine different outfits and different styles by swiping left or right. They have clothes from high brands as well as no name brands – for every fashionista no matter what her style is. And if you happen to fall in love with one of the pieces, they give you all the information you need, so you know where to buy it from. How does that sound?
- shoes: H&M
- dress: C&A
- coat: New Yorker
The pieces (except for the coat, which is on sale; check your local store) are from older collections. If you guys want, I can look for similar pieces. Just let me know in the comments below 🙂
* p.s.: no I am not getting paid in any from for promoting combyne. I am using the app and met the people behind it. Personally I like supporting start ups, especially when you see a bunch of nice people putting in hard work to make it happen.
